Book a ticket

From October 1, 2024, our tickets can only be purchased online 24 hours in advance and booked on fixed dates.

Furthermore, our prices will change from 1.10.2024. Details can be found in the ticket store.

Tours

Guided tours through our museum are currently available. Please ask for these by phone: +49 (0) 6821 / 931 63 25

School classes (and kindergarten groups)

School classes/kindergarten groups* from 10 children: €10.00 per person
Teachers or accompanying adults pay €19.00 admission.

For every 20 pupils/kindergarten children*, one accompanying adult gets free admission. 
(Certification from school required)

Tour of the Praehistorium: €45.00
Time Travel Tour: €45.00
Combined tour: €80.00

Earlier arrival times may be possible subject to prior arrangement.

FAQ

How do I get tickets?

You can purchase an online ticket for your visit to GONDWANA – Das Praehistorium 24 hours in advance via our website.

Is the museum suited for children of all ages?


The recommended age for a visit to the museum is 6 years and above, since younger children could easily get overwhelmed by the very realistic displays inside the museum. Please remember all tickets purchased are non-refundable. So please be sure before purchasing your tickets.

Can I access the museum with a wheelchair or a pram/stroller?


Yes, the whole building is accessible by wheelchair, pram, or stroller.

Is a visit influenced by the weather?

No, since all of our attractions are indoors.

Can I visit the museum with a group?

Groups are always welcome, but please remember to book your visit in advance, and in case of school groups, to bring a document that certifies the enrolment. Info & booking: +49 6821 / 931 63 25

Do you offer guided tours?

Are there audio-tours?

We offer free audio-tours and translations through QR-codes that you can access with your smartphone. Available in English, French, and German.

How much time do I need to visit the museum?


For one walk-through you should plan on needing about 3 hours of time to really see everything.

Can I walk through the museum several times?


We offer tours within 4 hours. You can also visit our attractions several times during this time. The only exception is the “rescue drone show”, which may only be visited once for organizational reasons.

How long can I stay at the museum?


You may stay in the exhibition for up to 4 hours. There is no time limit for visiting the restaurant.

Is it allowed to film and take photos inside of the museum?


Yes, you are allowed to film and take photos for private purposes with a few restrictions: Please do not film the movies, and please turn off the flash while taking photos during the shows or of the live animals! To film and take photos for commercial purposes, please contact our management for a permit at info@praehistorium.de.

Can children visit the museum on their own?


Everyone under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by an adult while they walk through the museum.

Can I bring my dog?


It is not allowed to bring any kind of pet.

Can I bring my own food and drinks and have a picnic?


In our museum, it is not allowed to have food or drinks. We do have a restaurant on location, so you can purchase food and drinks there and have them at our restaurant; however, here too, it is not allowed to bring your own food and drinks.

Is the indoor playground included in the ticket price?

No. Gondi’s Dinoworld is not part of the museum visit, but can be rented exclusively for 3h. Reservation: +49 6821 931 63 25

Do you have a cloakroom?

There are open coat racks available for use in our entrance area. No liability for items left at the coat racks.

Can I take bags or rucksacks with me?

It is not permitted to take bags and rucksacks up to A4 size into the museum. A limited number of lockers are available. However, we recommend that you do not bring any bags or rucksacks into the museum at all.

May I touch exhibition elements and exhibits?

No. None of the exhibition elements may be touched or walked on. No. None of the exhibition elements may be touched or entered.

Am I allowed to leave the designated paths?

No. It is expressly forbidden to leave the designated routes.

Travelling by car

BAB 8 federal motorway: Leave the BAB 8 at the Neunkirchen-City 23 exit • On the B 41, follow the signs for Ottweiler/St. Wendel • After the Sinnerthal roundabout, head for Landsweiler • You can reach the BAB 8 federal motorway when approaching from the BAB 1 by heading for Neunkirchen/ Zweibrücken at the Saarbrücken junction. When travelling via the BAB 623, head for Neunkirchen at the Friedrichsthal junction.

Travelling by train

The journey from Saarbrücken central station to Landsweiler-Reden takes around 20 minutes. The entrance is about 15 minutes’ walk from the station.
